On Wednesday 14 December 2016 at 1:30 p.m., Cardonald Primary School Christmas Service, which was to be held in Cardonald Parish Church, was held in the school due to forecast rain.
Children and parents, other family members, and the Parent Council were treated to two seasonal scripture readings, carols by the Junior and Senior Choirs, as well as pieces by the Violin Group directed by Mrs B. Pacewich. Acting Head Teacher, Mrs S. Rodriguez led the service, with piano accompaniment by Ms D. Mitchell.
School Chaplain, The Rev. Calum MacLeod, was accompanied by his wife, Ada, and two Elders from Cardonald Parish Church, Mrs Christine Brownlie and Mrs Linda Cassidy. In his address to the children, he spoke of the various faces that we see at this time of year, the best being the cheerful faces of those who celebrate that, at Christmas, God came to earth, because of his costly love for us.
At the end of the service, Acting Depute Head, Ms N. Scott presented the Minister with the gift of a miniature Christmas tree, evoking the school’s involvement in our Christmas Tree Festival.
The Senior Choir came down from the school on Tuesday 6 December to participate in the Midweek Service at which the Cardonald Parish Church Festival of Christmas Trees was launched. For good measure they sang some Christmas songs to the patrons of the Coffee Morning too.
On Friday 9 December, Rev. Calum MacLeod and Rev. Ada MacLeod were guests at the Primary 1 and Primary 2 show at Cardonald Primary School, which they very much enjoyed.
