They all joined together constantly in prayer along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus and with his brothers.” (Acts 1:14 NIV)
The Prayer Meeting runs throughout the year on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.
We believe totally in the need for and the power of prayer, and believe that this meeting is the powerhouse of the church. At the meeting, we sit together, some of us praying out loud, some silently, some for a few minutes and others simply praying two or three words, and we know that God hears it all. One of our members acknowledges, “I know when I first came, all these years ago, I was a bit nervous as it was the first one that I had attended.” However, together we learn to overcome our apprehensions. By hearing others, we have all learned how to pray for different needs and situations. Nothing is too small or too big to bring to the Lord.
Requests for prayer from the congregation and others are totally confidential and can be written and passed to us through the Minister, the office or via members of the group. If you prefer total privacy you can simply name the situation and leave it unsigned if you wish. People’s needs and concerns are countless.
Each Sunday from 10:45 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., a short pre-service prayer meeting in the Committee/Waiting Room is held to pray specifically for God to bless the service and the various aspects associated with it. Click here for more information.
