The Kirk Session is the court of Cardonald Parish Church that deals with pastoral and spiritual matters and decides general policy. The Session consists of the Elders, with the Minister as Moderator. Elders are recognised by the Office of the Scottish Charities Regulator (OSCR) as Trustees of the congregation.
Elders are appointed for life. When some retire from attending meetings, they cease to be Trustees or members of Session, but remain Elders.
Amongst other duties, the Kirk Session arranges the time of sacraments and other services, admits people to membership, and keeps contact with all members through visits, and sharing of information.
The Session Clerk is Mr Fergus Stewart.
